Location: Central IndianaJob Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist Team Manager oversees the daily operations of the respiratory therapy team to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical standards. This leadership role combines clinical expertise with administrative responsibilities, including staff supervision, performance improvement, resource management, and interdepartmental coordination.Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the respiratory therapy team, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and staffing needs.
  • Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and training to respiratory therapists and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Clinical Operations:
  • Oversee the delivery of respiratory care to patients across all applicable units.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Participate in clinical rounds and assist with complex procedures when necessary.
Administrative Duties:
  • Monitor departmental productivity and quality metrics; develop improvement initiatives where needed.
  • Manage inventory, equipment maintenance, and supply ordering.
  • Maintain documentation, compliance, and reporting for accreditation and regulatory bodies
Quality Improvement & Compliance:
  • Participate in or lead quality assurance programs and audits.
  • Promote adherence to infection control and patient safety guidelines.
  • Stay updated on new respiratory therapy techniques, equipment, and best practices.
Education & Training:
  • Coordinate continuing education and competency training for the respiratory team.
  • Support onboarding and orientation of new team members.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelors preferred)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
  • Active state Respiratory Care Practitioner license
  • Minimum of 3-5 years clinical experience, with 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
Preferred:
  • Experience in a long-term care or long-term acute care setting
  • BLS
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of operations, EMR systems, and respiratory equipment
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
