Job Description
MedStar Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) dedicated to clinical excellence and compassionate care, ready to work in a dynamic environment of our Emergency Department. This position is pivotal in delivering high-quality care for urgent medical conditions in our well-equipped facilities located in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region. As part of our team, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to facilitate patient recovery, participate in the development and implementation of patient management plans, and contribute to a culture that values patient safety and innovative healthcare.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Administer medications and treatments timely and according to policy.
Respond rapidly and effectively to emergencies, maintaining composure in high-stress situations.
Advocate for the needs of patients and provide health education to patients and their families.
Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms.
Participate in organizational health initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Strong clinical skills with a foundation in emergency medicine nursing practices.
Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, with high attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
Proficiency in using medical software and electronic health records.

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is preferred.
