The Occupational Therapist will perform thorough assessments, develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions that may include therapeutic exercise, ADL and IADL training, cognitive and perceptual retraining, neuromuscular re-education, functional mobility training, adaptive equipment and splinting, and patient and family education. In this role, the Occupational Therapist will actively participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences, contribute to discharge planning, and provide recommendations for durable medical equipment, home modifications, and community resources. The therapist will educate patients, families, and caregivers about home exercise programs, compensatory strategies, energy conservation, safety awareness, and techniques to improve participation in meaningful daily activities. The Occupational Therapist will also precept or mentor students and new staff as appropriate, sharing knowledge and supporting professional growth.

Aligned with Piedmont Healthcares culture of respect, innovation, and teamwork, the Occupational Therapist is expected to maintain strong communication skills, demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced clinical environment, and collaborate effectively with colleagues to support high-quality, patient-centered care. The therapist will engage in ongoing professional development, participate in in-service education and quality improvement initiatives, and incorporate current evidence-based practice into daily clinical decision-making.
